Structural Framing Information
Primary Structural Framing System
Frames and Rafters
The Monumental Steel Buildings primary structural framing system encompasses the essential steel components such as columns, rafters, moment/portal frames, interior columns, and more. At Monumental, we understand that every steel building project is unique, and we don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. That’s why we customize every steel building to match your specific needs and requirements. Our team of engineers take into consideration load conditions, location, serviceability, aesthetics, and building usage before we even begin the design process. Using the latest technology in engineering and drafting programs, we meticulously design and detail each Monumental steel building individually, ensuring a tailor-made solution for your project.
Frames and Rafters
The Monumental Steel Buildings primary structural framing system comprises the essential steel components such as columns, rafters, interior columns, moment/portal frames, and more. Our framing members are made with 100% U.S. Steel and are 3-Plate welded sections, WF mill beams (I-Beams), hot rolled cee channels, structural angle iron, and bar stock for connection plates and clips. We use the latest welding techniques and practices in compliance with the American Welding Society standards.
Our framing system is backed by a lifetime warranty for quality and workmanship. At Monumental, we prioritize quality, longevity, and ease of erection when designing and building our steel buildings. Our goal is to provide you with exceptional quality and structural integrity, rather than sub-par craftsmanship that could lead to headaches.
Our standard structural shop coating is a dark gray oxide (battleship gray) primer applied to a minimum 1 mil dry thickness. This primer not only enhances the appearance of your steel building when combined with the galvanized secondary structural system but also highlights any frame members that may need maintenance as the building ages. Unlike the industry’s typical red primer, which conceals rust spots and problem areas, our battleship gray primer makes them easy to detect. Any surface rust or aging primer can be easily remedied before it becomes a warranty-ending structural problem or, worse, a failure of the structural system.
